Why we must plant trees..................

Trees include the planet's largest and longest - living organisms on land. They not only enrich  our environment but are also vital to the sustenance of life on our planet.    To know more about the importance of these unsung heroes of our environment , read on...... trees absorbs atmospheric carbon dioxide in a process  called photosynthesis and release oxygen ,an element critical for the survival of all living things. In one year ,average  tree exhales enough oxygen for a family of four for one year. Leaves filter the air we breathe by removing   dust and other particulates.Rain then washes the pollutants to the ground .Leaves also absorb air pollutants such as ozone, carbon monoxide  and sulfur dioxide. Trees play a major role in controlling soil erosion. They also play a crucial in the improve ment of sil productivity , protection and conservation of water supplies & prevention of floods. Trees alter  the  environment  in which we live by moderating climate  and impro

TSUNAMI

A tsunami (plural: tsunamis or tsunami; from Japanese : 津波 , lit. "harbor wave"; [1] English pronunciation: /suːˈnɑːmi/ soo- NAH -mee or /tsuːˈnɑːmi/ tsoo- NAH -mee [2] ) is a series of water waves caused by the displacement of a large volume of a body of water, typically an ocean or a large lake . Earthquakes , volcanic eruptions and other underwater explosions (including detonations of underwater nuclear devices ), landslides, glacier calvings , meteorite impacts and other disturbances above or below water all have the potential to generate a tsunami. [3] Tsunami waves do not resemble normal sea waves , because their wavelength is far longer. Rather than appearing as a breaking wave, a tsunami may instead initially resemble a rapidly rising tide , and for this reason they are often referred to as tidal waves . Tsunamis generally consist of a series of waves with periods ranging from minutes to hours, arriving in a so-called "wave train". [4] Wave height
